UP Contact seal coolers
The UP series is the latest generation of Thales moving magnet close contact coolers. The dual opposed piston design minimizes exported vibrations and provides an excellent combination between low noise & vibration, efficiency, and rugged design to meet demanding environmental specifications.
Both slip-on and IDCA versions are available for a variety of cold finger geometries, including a SADA-II-compatible displacer as well as slip-on versions equipped with a high-efficiency spring loaded thermal interface. Maximum cooling powers from 600 mW up to 2 W at 80 K are available.
UP 7080
1000 mW / 5 mm slip-on
With only 5 mm cold finger diameter, the UP7080 is designed to fit into the smallest of dewars.
UP 7086

The UP series offers a comprehensive and versatile range of Linear Stirling coolers especially designed for cooling detectors in thermal imagers and IR sensors.
UP 7098
2000 mW / ½” IDCA
The UP7098 is the most powerful UP cooler currently available, with a 1/2″ displacer designed to fit into a SADA-compatible dewar.
UP 8197
1500 mW @ 150 K / SWaP ¼” IDCA (short)
The UP8197 is the smallest UP cooler currently available, and is equipped with a displacer designed to fit into the “SWaP” short version 1/4″ IDCA dewar bore.
UP 8497
600 mW / ¼” IDCA
The UP8497 is the smallest 80K UP cooler currently available, and is equipped with a displacer designed to fit into a standard Thales 1/4″ IDCA dewar bore.
LPT Pulse-Tube Coolers
For applications where life time and vibrations are key requirements, the LPT series is the preferred choice. These coolers combine a flexure bearing moving magnet compressor (as in the LSF series) with a pulse-tube cold finger. This results in a design that is intrinsically balanced and therefore low on vibration, while eliminating the need for a moving mass in the cold finger, thus improving reliability by removing a potential wear mechanism.
Three different LPT cooler types are currently available, with maximum cooling powers ranging from 1.4 W up to 15 W at 80 K tip temperature.
LPT9310
5000 mW / 24 mm slip-on
The LPT9310 combines the proven reliability and efficiency of the LSF93xx compressor with a coaxial pulse tube with integrated buffer, resulting in a high-performance, high-reliability package suitable for a multitude of applications. It is especially suited for 24/7 sensing applications.
LPT9510
1400 mW / 18 mm slip-on
The LPT9510 combines the proven reliability and power density of the LSF95xx compressor with a coaxial pulse tube with integrated buffer, resulting in a compact, high-performance, high-reliability package suitable for a multitude of applications. It is especially suited for 24/7 sensing applications.
LPT9710
15000 mW / 34 mm slip-on
The LPT9710 is the most powerful LPT cooler. It combines a high-efficiency flexure bearing compressor with a coaxial pulse tube cold finger, resulting in a cryocooler capable of providing up to 15 W of cooling at 80 K. The high power and efficiency make it suitable for 24/7 applications such as LN2 recondensing.
LSF Flexure bearing coolers
The LSF series combines the long lifetime and high reliability of a flexure bearing dual opposed piston compressor, with the efficiency and proven performance of a contact seal free displacer Stirling cold finger. The compressor motors are of a moving-magnet design, further improving reliability by eliminating the need for flying leads in the Helium working gas. As such, the LSF is the cooler of choice for applications where high performance and high reliability are required.
Both slip-on and IDCA versions are available for a variety of cold finger geometries, including a SADA-II compatible displacer. Maximum cooling powers from 650 mW up to 9 W at 80 K tip temperature are available.
